    tested all the features;  we then recorded over a used blank tape and it recorded fine; lastly

    put one more movie in to let it run,
    got sucked in, and ended up watching
    the whole movie,
    lol,
    and it still worked great  :)
    Minimal cosmetic wear as shown, and cord is in good shape as well
