    The CCM Premier Pro leg pads have been designed to shut the five-hole faster, with a lighter construction than previous models and maintaining the pads’ great ability to direct rebounds out of harm’s way. The Premiers shed weight via a thinner profile; a thinned out thigh rise focuses the centre of mass lower down the leg channel of the pad, and make up and down movements easier.
    The thinner profile also reduces interference between pants and the pads, and create a deeper knee stance. Furthermore, a deeper knee stance has a lot of benefits: easier pad rotation into the butterfly, VH and reverse-VH, and a better weight distribution in the butterfly. For the strapping, the Premiers come stock with just three leather straps and two Velcro straps. The top leather calf strap is most important because it controls the pad’s rotation going into the butterfly, and the large Velcro calf strap holds the pad, securely, to the goalie’s preferred tightness.
