Up for bids is this rarely seen snap on metal lens hood designed specifically for the fast 5.8cm F1.4 Nikkor lenses of the late 50s and early 60s. This model has the rare engraving solely for the 5.8cm F1.4 as when the 50mm F1.4 was released in the early 60s, the hood engraving was changed to accommodate both lenses.
Hoods improve contrast and reduce the chance of flare. The hood is a reverse mount for when the hood is stored or not being used.
The lens hood is in excellent used condition with some light cosmetic wear as shown.
