International Bidders are welcome to participate, I am offering eBay’s Global shipping on this listingOne of the rarest and most desirable early post war TV’s is the 1947 Belmont/Raytheon model 22A21.
Cosmetics of this 7”, channel 1 table top set are excellent overall; please see the many pictures below. The chassis is complete with all tubes, looks to be all-original, unrestored.
Cabinet has been refinished, has just a few very minor marks, all visible in the pictures provided. Notice the original decals on the still-nice photo-finish below the channel dials; most model Belmont 21’s and 22’s don’t look anywhere near as good as this one. Original speaker cone is good, no tears, has the original tube chart and 7JP4 picture tube. Grill cloth is also original and shows its age, obviously the whole set will look even better when replaced with the same material/pattern. There was never a back for this cabinet, no holes in the wood for one, none shown in any of the factory literature.
The slide-rule plastic channel dials were badly warped, a very common problem on this model. I had a friend make me new identical looking ones on photo paper and I protected them with clear Acrylic covers, they turned out very nice. New ones can be silk-screened/reverse painted as the old ones were if you can find someone to do it, I saved the computer program/file to give them. Slide rule tuner works nice and smooth like it is supposed to; red plastic index rule has a few missing teeth that will have to be repaired or new one made copying the old.
Chassis is in nice condition with the exception of some rust spots as shown in the pics below. I did not test the electronics or any of the tubes including the picture tube. There are no tubes missing and all the caps and resistors appear to be original or period replacements/repairs. The flyback transformer has two loose wires, assume it is bad and maybe it is good.
I buy, sell and collect vintage TV’s, I do no electronic restorations/repairs. I am selling this set as pictured, as-is, display only, not working, for parts and repair, no returns. This 70 year old TV must be looked over, safety checked and repaired/restored by a qualified technician before use.
TV measures 15” tall, 23 1/2” wide, 17” deep and weighs 55 lbs. Shipping box will measure approximately 19” tall, 27” wide, 21” deep and weigh 60 lbs. The picture tube will be safely packed in the TV set itself as when new.
Good, strong packing supplies/boxes including 2” thick hard Styrofoam to line the boxes will cost and FedEx Ground shipping will cost 5.00.
I sell Vintage Audio and TV's for a living. Here are some of the many TV’s/receivers I've sold in the past few years. I carefully packed them myself and shipped them all over the world, please see my 20 year feedback
The pictures below are of the actual vintage TV
I am selling.
